Event Exceeds Target!
TRIP’s annual event exceeded expectations raising more than $25,000. Many thanks to all participants. Your contribution is building homes for families and creating opportunities for promising students.

Volunteer Building TRIP 2009
We still have availability for the 2009 TRIP scheduled for March 27th to April 10th. Contact us at info@tripca.org.

Special Visit - August 08
We were honoured by a visit from our Sri Lankan project managers. Ruwan, Ranjhit and Anil came to Canada on a cultural exchange (see photo gallery).

Volunteer BBQ
On a hot spring day many TRIP volunteers got together for a festive BBQ in the McKelvey’s back yard. Great to see everyone again and catch up before summer.

Four New Homes
TRIP’s volunteer team spent two very productive weeks in December completing new homes for four families. Check out the photo albums to see everyone in action.

Donations

All third party donations of $50 or more are eligible for a charitable tax receipt and will be used to support TRIP Canada's projects in Sri Lanka. Your financial assistance could be:

  1. Sponsorship of a volunteer or a portion of their expenses.
  2. Contribution to the cost of constructing homes, schools or community facilities.
  3. Financial support for students requiring assistance for university or job skills training.

For all donations, we will advise you how the funds have been used and, on an annual basis, we will publish a newsletter with full details on disbursement of donations.

Funds raised to support a volunteer are applied to flights, in-country costs and a donation to building costs. For each volunteer, there is an administrative fee paid to Developing World Connections for costs associated with organizing all details of the trip and project site management in Sri Lanka.

Donating Through A Registered Charity

TRIP Canada is not a registered charity as participants pay all costs directly to our partner, DEVELOPINGWORLDCONNECTIONS (DWC). Therefore, we handle all donations through DWC. DWC is a Canadian registered non-profit society operating under the registered charity number 84949 7078 RR0001.

DWC believes that the most secure method of contributing to rebuilding in developing countries is through a grass-roots organization that hand delivers the commitment and is in place to oversee the project. So far, DWC has been able protect its efforts from government interference.

Donate Online - Currently Unavailable

Unfortunately, PayPal has recently implemented policy which prevents us from collecting donations online. We apologize for the inconvenience, and are currently looking for an alternate provider to process these transactions. In the meantime we would ask you to send your donation in by mail.
